Voting is now open for the annual Retool Your School campus improvement grant program. The social media-driven competition, sponsored by Home Depot, Inc., relies on a combination of online voting and social media posting to determine its winners.

The grant program strives to give back to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) that have generously provided their communities with a strong foundation, a renewed purpose, and a distinctive character. Last year, St. Philip's College was named a winner and received a $20,000 grant used to refresh the MLK Campus Community Garden. In November, the College hosted A Taste of the Garden event debuting a new gazebo and garden beds. The College plans to expand on last year's additions if annoucend a 2022 grant recipient.

Individuals are encouraged to vote starting February 28 through March 27 under Cluster 1. Grants will be awarded based on a total popular vote that combines unlimited daily online voting at www.retoolyourschool.com/vote. Social media voting counts Twitter and Instagram posts that include the hashtag #RYSSTP. For posts on social media to count the user’s account must be public. There is no limit to the number of times the hashtag can be used in a day or the number of times one can vote online.
