Okhai Omotuebe, a member of SAC’s Beta Nu chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honors society, is part of a new national marketing drive to recruit new students.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), an international honors society, has launched a massive campaign to attract new members from community colleges across the nation. One important piece of the campaign is Okhai Omotuebe, a San Antonio College student who is a member of the Beta Nu chapter of PTK.

Omotuebe, a computer programming major, is featured prominently on the PTK website home page and is seen in posters related to the campaign. In one poster he is seen wearing a dark blue sweatshirt with the PTK logo. To the left of him is the quote “I am a hard worker, a fearless leader. I am braving a new culture and country to support my family back home. I am driven to give back to the community that has embraced me.”

The PTK campaign uses a mix of social media, print materials, and multimedia showcasing members such as Omotuebe to raise awareness of the honor society and attract new members.

Omotuebe is the second SAC student to gain recognition through PTK recently. Beta Nu member Crisley Esquivel Sarceno was named a 2018 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar.

In addition to being a member of PTK, Omotuebe also belongs to SACMEN.
