The Student Advocacy Center has partnered with Starbucks and the San Antonio Foodbank to offer free food that would otherwise be thrown away from the coffeehouses earlier than it should.

The Food Rescue Program eliminates wasting good food by offering it for free to faculty, staff, and students from noon until 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Grab and Go station of the Advocacy Center.

Drivers from the Food Bank will go to Starbucks locations to pick up items such as breakfast sandwiches, pastries, salads, and lunch boxes and deliver them to the Grab and Go station.

In addition, the Advocacy Center also offers bread and pastries on Tuesdays from stores such as H-E-B, Walmart, Costco, and Sam’s.

The Advocacy Center’s Grab and Go station is an option for members of the SAC community who may be facing food insecurity. Faculty, staff, and students are permitted to visit the Grab and Go area once a day to pick up a food and drink item. It is open form 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
