What is the program?

The Paralegal Studies Program is part of the Administrative Computer Technology (ACT) Department which trains paralegals to work under the direct supervision of a lawyer.

What will I learn?

You will learn to:

  • Prepare trial briefs, motions and writs, and to assist during a trial
  • Prepare legal instruments, such as wills, petitions, and applications
  • Conduct fact-finding inquiries and prepare written memoranda
  • Conduct basic legal research
  • Apply legal computer technology

What can I do with this course of study?

You can obtain a position as a paralegal to serve clients' needs and assist an attorney in trial preparation, legal research, and other areas of law.

 What's special about the program?

The Paralegal Studies department offers an AAS degree in Paralegal Studies. Students can attend full-time or part-time. Classes are offered during the day or at night. Many classes are also offered online.
