SPC President Receives Heart of Care Award

St. Philip’s College President, Dr. Adena Williams Loston, received the Heart of Care award during the University Health System Foundation, Texas Diabetes Institute, Wall of Honor Luncheon. Each year, the event honors advocates who help build better lives for patients with diabetes. The event observed the 20th anniversary of the Texas Diabetes Institute by inducting Dr. Loston and two others into the Dr. Saul Treviño Wall of Honor.

Since being diagnosed with diabetes, Dr. Loston has shared her journey while emphasizing the importance of using her platform as an opportunity to share her story to ensure “people understand the significance of taking care of yourself.”
