ST. PHILIP’S COLLEGE ANNOUNCES 2019 HBCU COMPETITIVENESS SCHOLAR

St. Philip's College announced today that health sciences student Catherine Cantu has been named the 2019 HBCU Competitiveness Scholar for SPC.

The White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities selected 44 students from 34 HBCUs. The initiative recognizes outstanding student leaders and empowers them with tools for excellence and competitiveness. HBCU scholars engage in local and national activities.

Cantu, a native of San Antonio, is president of SPC’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society of two-year colleges.
