CIMA Students to Present During 2020 Emerging Researchers National Conference

Five students from the St. Philip’s College Ciencia, Ingeniería, y Matemáticas Aliados (CIMA) Program have been selected to present during the 2020 Emerging Researchers National (ERN) Conference in Washington, D.C., on February 6-8, 2020. The conference targets college and university undergraduate and graduate students who participate in programs funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Division of Human Resource Development (HRD) Unit. Students will present their findings from the CIMA summer research program at the conference in a poster presentation.

Additionally, students will have the opportunity to network with other Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) students, receive feedback from experienced researchers and contribute to their overall research profile. 

“Opportunities such as these helps create career identifies for students, particularly underrepresented minorities. It is important for STEM students to experience events and meet others similar to them, it creates a sense of belongingness and boosts their confidence,” said Tomeka Wilson, Grant Project Director.
