ST. PHILIP’S COLLEGE FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES VOCALIST AUDITIONS FOR 2019 PRODUCTION OF CARL ORFF’S CARMINA BURANA JAN. 14, 19 AND 28, TWO FREE SA SYMPHONY CONCERTS FEB. 1 (STUDENTS) AND FEB. 2 (GENERAL PUBLIC)

SA Symphony makes its debut in residence with complimentary admission at the first community college system ever to earn the presidential-level Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for performance excellence 

A high performance college hosts a high performance symphony in February; and conducts vocalist auditions for the debut of an iconic work in the same facility on its campus in January. St. Philip's College announced today that the college is auditioning vocalists for its 2019 production of the Carl Orff masterpiece Carmina Burana Jan. 14 (7-8:30 p.m.), Jan. 19 (2-4 p.m.) and Jan. 28 (7-8:30 p.m.) in Room 104 of the college's Watson Fine Arts Center at 1801 Martin Luther King Drive. All are welcome and no prior experience is necessary in order to audition. The Carmina Burana performance dates are April 11 and April 13. In addition to the announcement on Carmina Burana auditions and additional dates, the 2019 season of events at the Watson Fine Arts Center has been updated below with details on a concert for students added to the 2019 San Antonio Symphony Residency at St. Philip’s College schedule in February. During these concerts, in one 24-hour span, the symphony will make its student and community debut in residence at the first community college system ever to earn the presidential-level Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for performance excellence. With event status for 2019 events evolving regularly, it’s best to contact college technical director-auditorium manager Russell Calder at 210-486-2706, rcalder@aplrealestate.com for details and updates or visit select events at the college event e-Calendar:
