PAC hosts inaugural Student Athlete Orientation

Palo Alto College’s (PAC) Aquatic and Athletic Center hosted the first Student Athlete Orientation with over 100 athletes in attendance. The orientation highlighted new and existing sport offerings, student athlete expectations, various campus resources, and advising appointment stations. PAC offers team sports for currently enrolled students including men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, men’s soccer, softball, and baseball.

 

PAC professor receives Innovation Grant

Dr. Denise Barkis Richter, professor of Communication at Palo Alto College (PAC), was awarded an Alamo Colleges Foundation Innovation Grant for the Viva Verde Nature Photography Contest. The annual contest is an exhibit of student nature photographs that is displayed at PACfest and at San Antonio College’s (SAC) Eco-Exchange. Through the contest, students learn about photography and reflect on environmental sustainability.

 

PAC director presents at virtual conference

George Guajardo, Director of Institutional Research, Planning and Effectiveness at Palo Alto College (PAC), will be one of 31 speakers presenting at the second annual Curiosity Conference, hosted Sept. 18-19 by SurveyMonkey. The two-day virtual conference will focus on how to build meaningful connections between people and data, with sessions focusing on using feedback to make data-driven decisions, take action, and deliver impact. Guest speakers include leaders from organizations including HubSpot, Box, Lyft, and Cuisinart.
