In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, 西北远景学院(NVC) and the Westside Education and Training Center (WETC) announce the Crossroads to Success! “Caminos al samxito。! 事件从8点开始.m. 到1p.m. 十月星期六. 7 at the WETC at 610 SW 41st Street.

With 22% of residents in the area having an associate’s degree or less, and only 3% with a bachelor’s degree, the WETC location is accessible for area residents to advance their education and earn job-training skills.
未来的学生, 父母, and families are invited to visit with college representatives and community leaders who will be available at the Crossroads to Success! “Caminos al samxito。! event to share success stories and provide information on access to college and the city’s Ready to Work SA program.
This family-centered event includes history from the community, 西区的故事, a poetry reading by Poet/Professor Natalia Treviño, and cultural activities such as music and dance performances, and art construction for the community. 早餐8点开始.m., speakers and activities run until the 12 p.m. 午餐. 西北远景学院(NVC), part of the 澳门新葡京博彩区, is designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution. The college opened in 1995 with 12 students and has grown to one of the largest institutions of higher education in 圣安东尼奥 and the region with current enrollment exceeding 17,000名学生. 位于韦斯特多佛山, NVC’s expanding agreements with business and higher education partnerships provide a wealth of opportunities for students and the community.
NVC was the only community college in 圣安东尼奥 and one of eight in Texas that was invited in 2021 to compete for the 2023 Aspen Prize for 社区 大学 Excellence, the nation’s highest recognition in community college education. The Aspen Prize recognizes excellence in teaching and learning, 证书和学位完成, transfer and bachelor’s attainment, workforce success as well as equity for students of color and students from low-income backgrounds.
