June 17, 2020

NLC student, Victoria Register, is doing a CIMA-LSAMP Alamo Colleges virtual internship with the UTSA Ecology Department this summer. She is developing a map of freshwater conservation areas for San Antonio and Guadalupe County watersheds and will collect data and analyze measurements of photos and public data. Victoria says, “this summer internship is providing me with endless support and opportunities to further my education to obtain the career of my dreams!"

This is Victoria’s second CIMA-LSAMP internship having completed her first internship at NLC in Spring 2020 with Dr. Erica Cain, assistant professor of biology,  doing research on the Hedgehog Gene in the California Black Worm.

Register, a science and technology AlamoINSTITUTE student, will graduate from NLC this summer and will transfer to the University of Houston in the fall where she will complete her degree in Animal Behavior.
