Column: Spend summer preparing for your future

As our world continues to adapt to the current realities of social distancing, many of us are discovering new ways to spend our time. Maybe you've planted a garden or read a new book. Perhaps you've tried some new recipes or adopted a pet.

This time also presents an opportunity to think about your future and pursuing new goals. At Palo Alto College, we remain committed to creating a better future for the South Side community by providing access to quality higher education for all members of our community.

Throughout this period of remote teaching and learning, our faculty have embraced creativity and innovation to deliver their curriculum outside of the traditional classroom setting. Our student support teams have shown intentionality by continually checking in on students. Though the college experience might look a little bit different these days, the feeling is the same – one of learning, growing, and belonging.

In light of Gov. Greg Abbott's recent announcement to keep schools closed through the rest of the school year, Palo Alto College will continue operating remotely through the summer months. Students who choose to enroll at our college will experience the same quality instruction and support resources we have delivered while working remotely during the Spring term.

Even as we face times of uncertainty, education remains a beacon of hope for a brighter future. Whether it's your first-time considering college or you're looking to continue your education, our dedicated team is ready to help you pursue your educational and career goals.
